• Child Therapy

Therapy with children utilizes a combination of talk and play therapy. Parental involvement is encouraged whenever appropriate. I also work with the parent to develop and utilize parenting skills that meet the needs of their child. What worked with one child may not work with another. Parenting is based not only on skills, but also on the ability to adapt to each child's individual need

The most common childhood mental health problems are Anxiety, Depression and ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder with and without Hyperactivity). Consulting with your child’s primary care physician is a good first step in developing a plan which may include counseling services. School is also a resource for information on your child.

My policy is to work close with the parents, primary care physician (Pediatrician, Family Physician) and schools to develop a comprehensive team. Depending on the age of the child, a signed release from them may be necessary.
